Dan Carson

Dan Carson is the principal of Advanced Planning, Inc, a planning firm specializing in personally advising businesses, families, and individuals toward wise financial stewardship.

As a financial planner since 1988, Dan specializes in helping his clients understand that financial planning is not just about the rate of return you earn on investments. He is able to communicate to his clients in terms that are easy to understand the complex issues most people face today when it comes to their money such as taxes, inflation, wealth transfers and much more. With his style of communication, Dan is able to truly help his clients comprehend what problems they are facing and provide solutions that will help them pursue their financial goals.

As a recognized trainer and speaker to the financial services industry, he has shared the main platform with financial industry notables such as Harry Dent, Don Blanton and Bill Good. He has taught financial education on various topics through Greenville Technical College as well as public educational seminars and workshops. Dan’s teaching style is vibrant and engaging.

He has passed national examinations for series 7 (General Securities Representative) as well as series 24(registered principal) and series 65 (Investment Advisor Representative ) affiliated with Cetera Advisor Networks LLC,. He has been conferred the Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the American College in Bryn Mar, PA. All of which require significant continuing education requirements to maintain registrations and designations.

Dan is a native and lifelong resident of Greenville, South Carolina where he lives with his beautiful wife, Tamma. He has two grown children, Tyler and Lauren and four grandchildren Carlie, Chase, Leeland, and Forrester. Dan is a graduate of the University of South Carolina (Tamma graduated from Clemson). He began his working life with the Greenville Police Department in the Uniform patrol Division where he devoted 4.5 years of service before embarking on his career in the Financial service Industry. Having been in the same location since 1989, his office is located in the Historic District of Overbrook on East North Street in Greenville.
